Molly this is a seriously impressive experimental album that is literally like nothing else i've ever heard. it has unique sounds i've never heard in any other track ever, and it constantly surprises me this way because it always leads from one tune to a completely different one that has a spectacular, really out there composition to it that just leaves me wanting more. every track is completely different from the other and explores hardcore in new ways! love it!!!! Favorite track: Pear Smasher.

xunt this is insane. i could never NOT recognize the silky, ear creamy sounds of a well oiled steam engine firing on all pistons. you may wonder.. am I a farmer, land owner or possibly Amish? nein. I cut that sample on my MK3 this past Wednesday and was smeshing out something fierce.. like a pioneer breaking new ground. then I heard this, bought the cassette.. and quietly buried that idea alive along with what little spark of creativity I had.

no jokes tho.. this album is 🔥 Favorite track: No Rhyme or Reason.

Recorded 2018-2020, I embarked on this project to keep myself busy during the first year of lockdown brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. With all this newfound time, I wanted to really push myself out of my comfort zone creatively. I ended up diving headfirst into the world of sound design and synthesis. Although decidedly a new direction sonically, this project also marks a return to my roots in another way, by pulling inspiration from the mashcore, breakcore, and internet music I used to listen to at age 16. Having to rely on the internet solely for social interaction, a number of these songs were written in part or wholly during twitch livestreams in the middle of the night where my viewers would give me feedback and silly ideas of things to add to each track. These have been paired with some other miscellaneous odds and ends from 2018 and 2019, resulting in a multi-genre journey through teenage nostalgia, trauma processing, and complete isolation. This is The Dawn of The Dachshund.

each track uses the fact that its digital hardcore in its own unique way each time, rarely sounding similar to the other despite generally being noisy and in your face. i find this to be especially helped by Machine Girl's usage of unique samples or their own voices, which i can barely understand but honestly it really adds to the charm and aesthetic of this release. i know this album is 7 years old at the time of writing this, but it still holds up incredibly well.
